One
of Queensland's most scenic railway lines. This historic journey commences
in Gympie and passes through the small country villages of Dagun, Amamoor,
Kandanga to Imbil. Disembark at any of these fully restored stations.
Take a walk within the district, meet the locals or you can continue to
the end of the line, Imbil, where you will have time to enjoy a leisurely
meal and stroll before boarding the train for your return trip.
Taste
the grain, smell the hops, appreciate the traditional styles of handcrafted
pure beer. Forest Glen is a 30 hectare sanctuary where you can hand feed
a deer, see koalas, wombats, kangaroos and the Nocturnal Habitat. Visit

Caboolture
Historical Village is a `step back in time' as you imagine yourself in
yesteryear. Chocolate Chips is the darling of the Alpaca Stud. See why
their wool is called the fibre of the Gods. Watch the spinning wheel at
work, and see the finished garments. A visit to Grapeland is a visit back
to the good of days of rock `n' roll. This local Greek fruiterer sells
his bananas for a song, and boy can he sing! You can buy some `love me
tender tomatoes' or `jailhouse rock melons'. You will dance and sing your
way out of his shop.
Cruise through the Pumucestone Passage, spot a dugong, dolphin, loggerhead
turtle or one of the 360 species of birds. The Abbey Museum displays medieval
antiques from around the world. The stainglass windows in the beautiful
church date back to 1520. This is a must for the history buff.
Early
timber cutting techniques and a working replica of a steam driven sawmill
are just the tip of the tree at the Woodworks Museum. Fossick for gold
in a truly natural environment, just like in the old days. Ride a camel
along the beach or walk through the bush.
